Skeena Sawmills is spending $10 million for the first phase of modernizing its sawmill in Terrace, a move that allow the mill to better handle second growth timber, according to a report in the Terrace Standard.

The upgrade has already started, with the mill buying a high-speed canter saw for small logs. “This is part of a complete overhaul of the plant,” said Roger Keery, vice president of operations at Skeena Sawmills
