The wildfire burning in Waterton in southern Alberta is now contained and Parks Canada says it’s fully under control.

All trails that were closed by the fire are expected to reopen today, but hikers are advised some fire crews will still be in the area.

Parks Canada is also working with the U.S. National Park Service to manage a forest fire near Goat Haunt in Glacier National Park.

“Please be careful when walking on the Lakeshore Trail between Boundary Bay and Goat Haunt, and do not disturb any of the fire fighting equipment in the area,” said Parks Canada in a release.

The fire danger rating in the area is still listed as “extreme.”
