FREDERICTON – An order restricting forestry operations in New Brunswick during afternoon hours has been lifted, as weather conditions have contributed to a reduced fire hazard.

Forest users are asked to continue to exercise caution, recent rain and cool, damp conditions have reduced the risk for wildfires.

“The level of caution that forestry operations and recreational users have exercised over the past two weeks helped get us through the most extreme conditions in decades,” said Energy and Resource Development Minister Rick Doucet. “I encourage all users to remain vigilant.”

Restrictions on forestry operations between the hours of noon and 8 p.m. were imposed on Aug. 3 due to dry conditions in the forest.
