Premier Greg Selinger says a re-elected NDP government would provide more help for infrastructure projects and the forestry industry.
The government has already touted a 10-year, $10-billion plan to build and fix roads, bridges and flood protection.
Selinger said that after an NDP victory April 19 he would look at increasing the province’s share of some projects done with the federal and municipal governments.
He said instead of each government chipping in a third of the cost, the province would be willing to negotiate a higher percentage to save municipalities money.
Selinger says the exact amount would vary from project to project.
Selinger also promises to create a forestry advisory council with indigenous leaders and industry to ensure northern communities a share of jobs and other benefits.
