A UNBC professor fears the wildfires raging across B.C. will have significant impacts on forestry operators, especially smaller ones focusing on localized areas, such as community forests, First Nation tenures and woodlot operators.

Philip Burton, a professor with the Ecosystem and Science Management program, is quoted in an article on MyPrinceGeorgeNow.com. He says some of the smaller operations could be completely wiped out due to the affect on future timber supplies.
