Toromont employees across Canada got their hands dirty for a good cause last week, planting more than 150 trees in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday. Trees were planted at branch locations, local community parks and recreational areas.
Maria Vomiero, human resources director, Toromont Cat, reports that employees exceeded expectations, and planted more than the goal of 150 trees. In St. John’s, NF, for example, company employees planted 200 seedlings at Bowring Park.
According to a company statement, “Environmental sustainability and community involvement are cornerstones of Toromont’s value system and Toromont employees are eager to share in this unique, countrywide celebration while planting the seeds for a beautiful, healthy Canada tomorrow.”
Toromont Industries consists of more than 3500 employees across five organizations: Toromont CAT, Battlefield Equipment Rentals, CIMCO Refrigeration, AGWest and Sitech.
