The Mass Timber Institute (MTI) has assembled an expert panel at The Buildings Show (Construct Canada) that is part of a ‘suite’ of sessions at this year’s show focusing on mass timber.
Rather than simply promoting mass timber, MTI decided to deliver greater value by referencing other forms of construction.
Designers, consultants, constructors, owners, and developers all face the question of selecting the best building system(s) for their projects.
The MTI panel responds to the question: Mass Timber, Concrete, or Steel: What’s the Best Option for Your Project?
The panel will discuss key factors to consider in making building system decisions such as price, schedule, availability, sustainability, design quality, and character, durability, and safety. The panel will share their experiences with each option to support a strategy for the most informed analysis thereby producing the greatest benefit to owners, users, visitors, and the broader community. Ongoing research and development are leading to continuing advances in every building technology; the panel will discuss how this can best influence these material selection decisions.
The construction industry has been challenged by evolving building practices and technologies, collaboration,
client expectations, a shrinking workforce, legal and regulatory changes, new building and sustainability
codes, smart buildings and cities, and more.
Check out the 150 sessions including “Mass Timber, Concrete, or Steel: What’s the Best Option for Your
Project?”. The Mass Timber Institute has assembled a panel of experts who will be discussing factors to
consider in the choice between mass timber and the more ‘traditional’ methods of construction with an
emphasis on a hybrid approach in the design process.
Sessions are selling out so reserve your seat today! Select seminars are approved for OAA, OBEC, ARIDO
and IDCEC.
