Employment Opportunity: Chief Forester
The Algonquin Forestry Authority (AFA) is seeking a Chief Forester to lead sustainable forest management initiatives in Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced forestry professional to oversee planning, certification, compliance, and public relations efforts.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead sustainable forest management for Algonquin Provincial Park.
- Oversee forest management planning, certification, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain the Environmental and Sustainable Forest Management System (ESFMS).
- Manage public relations, social media, and stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in forestry from an accredited college or university.
- Registered Professional Forester (Ontario).
- Knowledge of Ontario’s forestry regulations and policies.
- GIS skills and experience managing forest resource inventories.
- Strong technical writing, public communication, and leadership skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of forestry experience preferred.
Compensation
Salary Range: $46.72 – $57.96 per hour (based on experience).
